About CHACO

Our Story

It began as a simple loan between workers at Champion Paper in Hamilton, Ohio. The paper mill workers were searching for an innovative way to fund low interest loans to each other, so they pulled their money together and quickly a great way to save and borrow money emerged. Based on the belief of "People Helping People", CHACO Credit Union was established in 1938.

CHACO has grown tremendously by adding new products and services to fully service all of our members financial needs. We now have six locations in Butler, Hamilton, Preble and Warren counties. We have a lot to be proud of after 75 years and a lot to look forward to, as we enter the next 75 years from a position of strength and stability. Most importantly we have not lost the spirit of innovation that sparked our beginnings: "People Helping People."
